To get it out of the way - we are not Jubilee, and we run this site as dedicated amateurs, not as professionals.
Ever since Jubilee got introduced to the public we've been waiting, crossing our fingers and somehow expecting
for someone out there to start a site like this, entirely focused on Jubilee while being somewhat factual, up-to-date
and comprehensive - usually people out there are always hot about creating blogs, journals, identities, mybooks,
facelikes, ispace profiles, etc. etc.. but no such site appeared, so we decided to take it on ourselves. But why the hell did it have to be us then? Probably because we love music a little too much for our own good. If that's possible. Like.. back when we were little, we were those geeky kids, who spent sunny afternoons indoors sorting, filing and reordering our tape collections - ripped from borrowed vinyls - alphabetically by interpret one week , by album title the next, then by year of issue the next, then by record label after that, then by genre and finally by international ordering numbers.. and starting all over again. Maybe that tells something about how out of whack your brain chemistry is.. maybe that's a way of expressing one's care, love and dedication. Well, that's most likely why. As a matter of fact it hasn't really changed nowadays…there are still fights around here, as to whether "The Kinks" need to be filed under the letter T" or the letter "K". Cause you can't have half of the bands on earth filed under "T", but if it had been "Kinks" instead of "The Kinks", surely they would have called themselves like that, right ? Whatever.. things are still the same, in a way it's pretty pathetic. Now, there are several cd shelves here and we won't even get into these talks anymore. Plus we know our stuff.. sorta.. a bit, anyhow.. say, at least above average.. kinda. Well, we know where to look.. most of the time. And who gives a damn about knowledge anyway, right ? Music is all about instinct, guts, intuition and pleasure ! Sure.. but with a bit of added knowledge, getting the background, connecting the dots, expanding one's horizons.. you might open yourself doors to even more pleasure and even better instincts.. Ignorance is bliss, they say ? but that's only true, when it's useless junk you're dealing with.. When it's about something as brilliant and kaleidoscopic as Jubilee on the other hand, then even a bit of knowledge turns into serious fun. So.. about this site - back to the topic.. We hate the idea that there'd be a chance that something as good, thrilling and fresh as Jubilee wouldn't get as much attention as it deserves in the world out there.. because people don't care for music anymore and need to play virtual pingpong instead.. because industries and markets are a-changin '.. or because everyone's brainwashed into having a real sucky taste.. you know what the world out there is like. Well, if there's even the slightest chance that our site here might help just the tiniest, minuscule fraction of a bit in spreading the word about Jubilee, then it will all have been worth it. And about us.. well, you know.. there's not much more to say. |
